Week One: The Beginning
In spite of the torrential rains that the greater-Houston area has been experiencing since Monday, our builder has managed to break ground on our new house. My mom was in the neighborhood Tuesday afternoon and swung by "just to see" and -- as promised -- work has begun. I hope to make it by myself this weekend to take a look around at the progress. So far, it's a lot of pipes and dirt, but suddenly it's starting to feel very, very real.

How cool is that??? I'm super excited for you and your hubby - it's going to be amazing!
Soooo exciting!
Yay! That was super quick! Take lots of pics so you can look back someday and think "Gosh, I can't remember what it looked like before we built." How exciting :)
YAHOO!!! I'm so excited to hear and see their progress. :)
So exciting :)
Averill - You lucky girl! I think I'd love to finally build our ultimate house. We are way out here in Katy. We moved from Seattle & chose Katy because of the schools.Don't really want to end up out here. My husband rode his bike on Wed. a.m. to work. Ended up having to carry it because the water was up to his knees!
Thanks for your great comments yesterday. I believe I know what you mean about polyvore. My guess it's because you need to click on "show background" on your images. Some work without the background & others get that cloudy effect. Wish I had more time to utilize other programs such as photoshop & illustrator. My eldest son graduates in the digital arts field next month. I need his help. Love your blog!
