Best laundry room ever....
After a weekend hassling around with our old washer and dryer (which now manage to get unbalanced anytime I try to wash or dry more than a few items at a time), I'm dying for one of the new high-tech versions from Electrolux, which wash and dry a load in as little as 36 minutes (allegedly). While I'm at it, I'd perk up my now very beige and white space with the turquoise models and cover the walls in Osborne & Little's Best in Show, a black and white dog print that I love for laundry rooms, mud rooms and hallways. Now if I only had the five grand to allocate to this little redo....

Ooooh! Love the concept! I'll keep my fingers crossed that 5 grand falls from the sky and into your front yard today! I recently "did" my laundry room but am waiting (and waiting and waiting) for my old w/d to die before I get new machines... at least the rest of the room is ready! (see post) http://psychedforstyle.blogspot.com/2010/02/haute-laundry.html
That would be darling!!! I really have a soft spot in my heart for gorgeous laundry rooms - it's a dreary chore, so anything that brightens it up is wonderful.
Your comment on Sanity Fair made me laugh OUT LOUD. So funny! And so true. Honestly, some of those ads... :)

Oh, I'm with Kiki, hope some bounty falls from the sky and we can watch you bring this concept to life. Janell
Totally, that would be so fun! If you're going to do laundry, you might as well be smiling, right? Our washer and dryer are basic white front loaders but that turquoise would be awesome. :)
Can I come and do laundry at your house when you're done? LOL! That is such a cute idea. I love the turquoise. Why should your laundry room be boring, right?
Ooooh! Love the thought of this!! I saw a paper with just black and white chairs that I thought would look so cool in a laundry room. Love the idea of the dogs, perfect. I hate when washers and dryers don't work well. I have the Maytag front loader. If I had it to do over I would get the new one that steam cleans from Kenmore, I have heard great things about it and much cheaper than an Electrolux, I think. Good luck with the washer and dryer. It always feels like getting tires for the car, necessary purchase but not much fun like a new piece of furniture. Kathysue
That wallpaper is so fun! Couldn't think of a better spot for it than a laundry room. Great find!

The laundry room is such a great spot for fun wallpaper...I, too, hope money falls from the sky for you so that we can see this concept come to life. It might make doing laundry less of a chore!
Oh beautiful! I've been dying for those washer/dryers plus best in show has always been a favorite of mine. I must agree best laundry room ever.
Love your blog, not sure how I discovered it--but have enjoyed reading for a few months. Wanted to chime in on the w/d situation. I have the front loading Whirlpool Duet in an upstairs laundry room. They really vibrate on the spin cycle and it takes 50 minutes to wash a normal load!! I would NOT get them again. The clothes do not take long to dry, as they are not very wet when the wash cycle is over. I miss my top loading Maytag that I had for 18 years. With 3 kids, I do at least one load everyday. Maybe if my laundry room looked like your picture it wouldn't be such a chore! Other than seeing Kelly Ripa on Electrolux ads, I don't know much about the brand--bit love the color!
I've been dying to use Best in Show in a mud room and that combination would make for the best laundry room ever! And by the way, E doesn't drink coffee either, which is why we ended up getting the Keurig!
What a fun scheme for a laundry room, Averill!
Averill, I love these, wouldn't it be great I don't have 5K lying around at the moment!

SO fun! Love the paper...and the movie!
Check Sears...Kenmore has lots of colors now! And, here is a tip: see if they have anything damaged! As in a scratch on the side or little dent that will be up against a wall of the other appliance and not seen.
Otherwise, get white, using the same tactics :) as above and go crazy with the wallpaper (which I love) and fabric if you can work it in!
I love laundry rooms...so wish you were my client! I am wrapping one up now and I practically begged her to do wallpaper but not in the budget.
Very chic washer and dryer!

I like the idea of a fun laundry room. why not spruce up a depressing place!
This is so wonderful. The laundry room is often so overlooked, when in fact, you spend a decent amount of time in there.
Great post!

I am not a fan of colored washers and dryers personally. Buy a new set of white, much cheaper, then use this wallpaper. With such a striking wallpaper, the washer and dryer won't dominate anyway. BTW, people often paint refrigerators. I wonder why one couldn't paint a washer and dryer.
I really need to knuckle down and start doing some appliance research. I know what I like to look at but I don't know about all the different features. These are very pretty!
I love the idea of turquoise appliances--especially when doing laundry-yuck! Best in show is cheeky fun too! Love your sight and fresh perspective-just became a fan!
agreed. LOVE that gorgeous pair!
I can just picture it and it would be FAB-U-LOUS! Do it! Do it! :-)
