What I Want This Spring: A Stripe Blazer

At 37 weeks and 2 days pregnant, I'm absolutely dying to get back into "normal" clothes (or have my normal clothes fit, well, normally). While it will probably be a few more months before I do any serious shopping to let my weight/size settle back down, the top of my wishlist is a stripe blazer, which is popping up everywhere this spring. Blazers have always been my go to piece for the office and even on the weekend when I want to look pulled together. Either way, I'd pair with white or dark denim and some fabulous wedges. Wear a bright colored top (like orange!) or mix in a small-scale floral to make a bigger statement.

Source List: (1) Maritime Stripe Blazer (J.Crew; $118); (2) Striped Jacket (Banana Republic; $167.99); (3) Bailey 44 'Gyro' Jacket (Nordstrom; $187); (4) Robert Rodriguez Stripe Blazer (Nordstrom; $375); (5) Elizabeth and James Preppy Striped Blazer (Sakes Fifth Avenue; $425); (6) Navy Breton Stripe Jersey Blazer (Boden; $98).

What's on your shopping list this spring?

I haven't noticed this trend, and never would have considered one until reading this post. But the one in the bottom left is super cute. With a bright orange underneath it'd be even cuter.

And girlfriend, I'd give yourself a bigger break than a few months --- honestly, your body may take a while to fit into your old clothes! It's okay! You're making a whole new person!!!

I'm optimistic it won't take too long -- as of today I'm just +16 and still able to wear all my jackets (only now my bump is sticking way out from under it!).

Very cute! I love them! My goal this spring is to forget about how white my legs are and just wear cute springy dresses anyways! I mean...in 10 years I'll probably look back and wonder what the issue was!

Very cute! I have a striped Brooks Brothers blazer done in seersucker that I just adore!

You'll be back to normal clothes before you know it!

I'm 38 weeks and it's literally taken me almost this long to yearn for my normal clothes. It's not so fun anymore buying maternity, and I swear I'm outgrowing even those. Scary. I can't wait to buy my normal J. Crew size again.

Great! Another thing to add to my wish list. Averill a striped blazer could be a nice way to disguise the "post baby bump". Love your choices.

I recently saw a horizontal striped jacket paired with a vertical striped top. Believe it or not, it looked good.

You got me thinking spring already.

Oh my, I bet you can hardly wait, Averill! I think a striped blazer would be most ideal—classic and so fresh. Great with a bit of bright color, or kept crisp with just black and white... as for me, a new handbag and white blouse or on a need NOW list :)

Hope you have a relaxing weekend,
xoxo

I love stripes!! And as a matter of fact I tried on the J. Crew blazer but it is way too boxy for me - I even went down a size or 2 but then it was too short. I'll have to investigate some of the others to see what they're like!! You're nearing the end - so exciting!!
