My Style in One Picture

Last week Ally at From the Right Bank... challenged her readers to post one picture that thoroughly encapsulated their style. Intrigued, I set out to find my own picture...and it was a lot harder than I had initially expected. While I blog constantly about rooms and homes that inspire and awe me in some way, shape or form, I found it really hard to find a single room that felt like it was 100% me, that I wouldn't change a thing in. But this dining room does include a few of my favorite colors, motifs and elements: coral (both the color and the motif), gilt, quatrefoil, cotton velvet, slate blue, lanterns, clean lined dark wood furniture, a statement-making chair, and white ceramic animals (though I'd swap the greyhound out for a dachshund!). And, as a whole, this is a pretty incredible room, don't you think?

For today, at least, this is My Style in One Picture. What's yours?

Also, please join Sue and I today over at The Zhush where I'll be sharing some of my favorite summer style secrets. See you there!

Terrific choice, Averill! I could absolutely see you living here. But I would want to see you swap out that bench for a pretty console and style it all up per your "anatomy of a console" ... I just know you'd do something just fabulous!! Off to check out your guest post!!

I've been thinking about this challenge...what a great idea Ally had. Your image really does capture what I would think would be your style, from everything you've written about and shown on your blog. Great image...the colors are fabulous.

I love your choice! I did mine last week (http://uselessendeavor.blogspot.com). It was hard and I think the room I picked represented my mood that day...if I had to pick again, I might change my mind. I think a good challenge would be a house of rooms - bedroom, living/family room, dining, kitchen and bath. Then you will get a nice capsule of someone's style.

I, too, never seem to be able to find the "exact" room that would sum up perfection for me. Just based on what I know of you and your style, I think you did a great job with this one! Fun challenge. I'm off to check out your post on The Zhush.

Oh. BTW. I had a feeling you would love that CR Laine room. It was pretty awesome, wasn't it? :-)

This is so so fun, Averill! I must participate... as for the room you selected? It's gorgeous—right down to the flower arrangement... and that chair is stunning, as is the color!

Hope you have a lovely weekend*

p.s can you please email me when you have a moment? Unfortunately, I lost all emails from before June 15th, and have a quick question for you. Thanks!

:)
